What does flavors have to do with fragrances?

Smell and Taste the Flavor!

Flavors have everything to do with fragrances. If you enjoy certain flavors, more than likely you will also like the fragrances they have. This is the major reason a sense of smell is so closely related to our taste.
Flavor is the savory taste that you add to aromatic products to impart tang, zest, gusto, or whatever effects you are trying to reach. It is virtually the "essence" of the element. It is the essential treatment and basis of Aromatherapy.

Flavors are seasonings like salt and pepper and ketchup and mustard. They can be plants, herbs, flowers, spices, or fruit. Without them, the essence of the ingredients is missing. Here are examples of great combinations of flavors and fragrances that when combined, create great seasonings, flavors and fragrances.

  • Vanilla and Cinnamon
  • Lemon and pepper
  • Lavender and Mandarin
  • Apple and Cinnamon
  • Coconut and Rum
  • Rose and Chamomile
  • Orange and Pine
  • Peaches and Cream

These are just a few of the more popular fragrance combinations. By understanding what flavors and fragrances perfectly mix together, you can begin to create your own wonderful blends of perfumes, candles, potpourri and other scent-sations.

I went to a place where you are able to make your own scent and mine turned out to be delish! I think I've found my true calling ;). Anyways, this is a very tropical smell. There are three components in this recipie:
-Fresh Papaya
-Mandarin Orange
-Hawaiian Rain (it didn't occur to me that rain in Hawaii smelled different than rain in the Continental US, but it smells sweet. Most places might not offer it...)

jUST giving another example of a heavenly smell
